New Faculty: Important points to consider before your first teaching assignment

  1. Please review the your contractual obligations including your key deliverable, expectations and timelines etc.

  2. Review the assigned course outlines and acquaint yourself with all the corresponding details including the course content, articles, cases, exercises, assignments, exam pattern etc.

  3. Please ensure that any suggested pre-session reading material, cases, assignments etc recommended by you must be provided to the program office at least 4 weeks prior to the commencement to your course.

  4. Kindly go through the student profile - their professional experience, industries, profile etc in order to give a better context to your lectures.

  5. You will be given access to our online course management system (Blackboard). Please familiarize yourself with the Blackboard system. Get the login details from our course coordinator.

  6. You can also access a range of rich learning & research resources like EBSCO, ProQuest, Safari e-Books etc through Blackboard Library links. We strongly encourage you to utilize these resources to enrich your course delivery and research.

  7. We aspire to deliver a rich In-Class experience and student engagement. It is good to present a topic in-depth but do not keep your lecture purely theoretical. It would be good to have some conceptual or theoretical base blended with live examples, business cases or contemporary global illustrations to bring out valuable insights from your subject area.

  8. We encourage class participation (CP) and are using various methods ranging from observation based rubrics to software tools such as Socrative to accomplish the same. You are advised to develop a CP strategy for your course and use it suitably. A detailed demo of Socrative is available on this link ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlnI1f-Q1JM&t=163s )

  9. We encourage bringing in global examples in class, contemporary case studies, student engagement activities, pre-session preparations, presentation assignments etc.

  10. Various duties of faculty include setting exam papers and doing some in-class evaluations etc.

  11. We hope that you are comfortable and well prepared to handle all the above mentioned points. In case any further assistance is needed, please feel free to contact your program coordinator.
