Every faculty would be required to draft an individual annual L&D plan for his/her professional development in the format prescribed in Appendix 1 (pdf above). Faculty members are required to plan for a minimum of 48 Hours (36 for AMs) of Learning and Development Exposure per year (Sept-Aug period). These 48 hours can be factored in many ways, some suggested activites:

i. Faculty can plan to attend academic or industry conferences / workshops / colloquiums but will need the approval of their supervisor first. It must be an activity that improves their capabilities in their specific role and widens their exposure. To apply for Academic conference funding, please refer to the conference funding guidelines circulated by Prof. Seetharaman.

ii. Attending internal Research Seminars and Learning & Teaching seminars would count towards this. Attending the DBA supervisor training and Faculty Demonstration Seminars would also count.

iii. Attending the internal monthly staff / guest sessions where presentations are made by academic or industry guest speakers. (e.g Visiting wisdom, SPJ Innovation series lectures)

iv. Any training recommended by the Human Resources Department may be included. (Example 360-degree review etc.). Online MOOC, EDX courses/certifications can also be included.

Please suitably utilize internal L&D opportunities.  Please balance your 48 hours of training exposure to include all modes: in-house L&D opportunities, online courses and external/outstation/industry sponsored activities. Kindly record all such activites and provide details in the Appendix A.1 under the 'Outcomes'.

While there are many guest sessions, research/faculty seminars, new faculty demo seminars etc which you can attend,  Please also suitably explore Industry sponsored events / free seminars at your respective locations and freely share such information with colleagues.
